Nina Guetta – Aquarel songs
New Horizons
Beginning in 2016, Nina re-opened the French songbook, delighting in exploring anew the rich repertoire of traditional French song.
At the same time, she undertook assiduous technical work to continue developing her vocal register.
In 2018, her meeting with jazz guitarist Yann Viet marks a new stage in her career with the construction of a common project focused on this repertoire.
The great instrumental technique and the melodic richness of Yann Viet‘s musical arrangements, combined with Brazilian musical culture and Nina’s timbre, have given a new and original colour to this repertoire which includes some original compositions, poems set to music, and covers of renowned authors such as Barbara, Maurane, Aznavour, Gainsbourg or Salvador.
The subtle acoustic duo is pleasantly complemented in some concerts by the bassist and cellist Olivier Soubeyran.
In collaboration with Yann Viet & Olivier Soubeyran

Yann Viet started playing the guitar at the age of 10, initially attracted by Celtic music as well as authors such as Brassens or Renaud. Soon enough, he became interested in jazz, took lessons with Pierre Cullaz and became passionate about harmony and improvisation, discovering Bill Evans, Joe Pass, Chet Baker and Larry Carlton .
In addition to his teaching activities, he then divided his time between various collaborations, more oriented towards French songs, and his own projects.
Two albums have already been released under his name “La Javanaise” in 2010 and “Life on Mars” in 2016 with Marc Eliard on bass, Sylvain Gontard on trumpet, Jaco Largent on percussion… Two other albums are in preparation.

Originally from Angers, Olivier Soubeyran, a cellist with a complete classical training, decided in the 1990s to open his musical horizons and went to the “Musician Institute” (Los Angeles) to study bass and contemporary music. He is a student of Joe Diorio, Gary Willis, Jeff Berlin…
He then became an electric bassist and an eclectic musician. Upon his return to France, he begins a professional career as a bassist / double bassist / cellist, with many projects both live and studio by request and by his initiation. Whether on stage, on television or in studios he collaborates with Sheila, Michaël Gregorio, La Compagnie du Théâtre des Trois Gros, Liane Foly, Carol Frederick, Maxime Le Forestier, Clarika, Jane Manson, Didier Wampas, Maurane, Miro and many others.
